Return competence and good judgment to the D.A. position
George wants to:
- Take the politics out of prosecution.
- Repair the fractured relationship between the D.A.'s office and the police officers and sheriff's deputies who protect us from crime and investigate the criminals. He had a strong relationship with the police and sheriffs deputies in Jefferson County and would bring that ability of partnership to the 18th Judicial District.
- Ensure the ethical use of power. There will be no threats to anyone conducting a legal civil or criminal case in any county under Mr. Brauchler's watch. Employees will not work in fear of retribution or reprisal.
- Return experience and competence to the D.A.'s office by creating an environment that retains and trains prosecutors who are good people with sound discretion. Currently, more than 50% of the prosecutors in the office have left under the current administration.
- Restore and build dignity in the D.A.'s office. An office that is free of any suspicion or censure. An office of the People in which integrity is the partner of Justice instead of its adversary.
- Focus the D.A.'s office on prosecuting cases that affect families, not on cases that advance a political agenda.
